Submission Information

Formatting Requirements
  • 20 pages maximum (page count does not include cover page or works cited)

  • MLA or APA format

  • Cover page​ with paper name and your unique code 

  • Abstract (1 page maximum)

  • Name and personal information cannot be included in paper

  • Maximum of two authors per submission

Suggested Outline
  • Abstract: A brief overview of your paper including: purpose, summary of methodology, and explanation of results.

  • Literature Review: A critical analysis of published knowledge through summary, classification, and comparison of prior research studies and articles relevant to your research focus.

  • Methodology: Explains how you collected and analyzed data in enough detail to be repeatable. Data collections methods may vary and could include anything from conducting your own experiments to extensively researching a topic.

  • Conclusion: Answer your original question by analyzing data or results and discussing relevance. 

  • Works Cited

Keep in mind that the above outline is simply a suggestion of key elements that many research papers include, but is by no means a requirement and submissions may vary.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be enrolled into an accredited high school program or be a student of home or private education and working towards a G.E.D.

  • Must be under the age of 19

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident

  • Must submit original work

  • Must work with a maximum of one other student (who also meets the requirements)

  • Must only submit one paper

  • Cannot work with animals

  • Must work ethically with human subjects
